Maria Carrillo High School

Our Team

Our award-winning high school robotics team is a part of the worldwide organization FIRST® (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology). The FIRST® mission is to inspire young people to be science and technology leaders, by engaging them in exciting mentor-based programs that build science, technology, engineering, and math skills. This mission is accomplished by students partnering with adult mentors to build a robot, which will compete in the most intensive robotics competition in the world. The goal is to give students hands-on experience working with real engineers, so that engineers and scientists are seen as role models in the same way professional athletes are. In 1992, The FIRST® Robotics Competition (FRC) began in a high-school gym. There are now over 3000 teams competing in over 56 Regional Events around the world with the goal of qualifying for the FRC World Championship.

Carrillo Cybernetics is dedicated to helping others and guiding our colleagues toward the future with an education in teamwork, synergy, as well as the basics that FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) teaches: electronics, programming, construction, business, and so much more. We strive to expand our knowledge of robotics as well as encourage the pursuit of STEM careers for our members and all we interact with. So why not come join us?t

Our robotics team has been established at Maria Carrillo High School for quite some time now and is represented by both boys and girls in 9th to 12th grade. We are supported by two parent coaches, mentors from local community and parent volunteers.

As we compete in local, regional and national events, we would be honored to represent select area and statewide businesses as our strategic partners.

Carrillo Cybernetics is based at Maria Carrillo High School in Santa Rosa, California. Our team is composed of a diverse group of high school students that are of various ethnicities, abilities, and goals for the future. We are supported by two parent coaches, mentors from local community and parent volunteers Below are our leading members.
